I love this spicy exotic essential oil it is a highly regarded spice in India and considered to be an aphrodisiac.
Cardamom has been used in Vedic medicine for centuries for aiding the digestive system, coughs, abdominal pain, muscle spasms, colic, diarrhoea and nausea.
This beautiful spice was sent to ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome and was used as a perfume and incence.
A refreshing tonic and invigorating essential oil you will enjoy it in a bath, foot bath, body and room spray, perfume or use it in an uplifting inhalation blend.
Cardamom blends well with all citrus, woods, herbs, florals and other spices.

I love being ble to share information about my favourite subject Aromatherapy ♥
Aromatherapy baths are so healing on all levels and they are a way of supporting yourself at home for relaxation, assisting with stress, tension, anxiety and also work on a physiological level for treating skin and reproductive complaints.
You have two pathways of absorption via your skin and through breathing. Firstly your smell preference plays a very important role in assisting with relaxation. If you like what you are inhaling you will have an immediate positive response.
I will suggest some oils here that can assist with relaxation, relieve tension and reduce anxiety.
Create a sacred space for yourself, I like to set the scene with soft music, candles burning and of course choose my favourite oils. Once you have everything ready and your bath is ready to hop into gather your oils and add up to 6-8 in total for a healthy adult, halve that amount for children and during pregnancy. Agitate the water to release and break-up the essential oils, some people like to use a dispersant. The reason for this is so that there are not large globules of essential oil floating around. I personally do not find this necessary, if you do use a carrier oil for example, the essential oils must be added to that first and then poured in to the bath. Warning ~ use a anti-slip mat as carrier oil make the bath slippery!
Ok now to the yummy part ~ Essential oils ~
Rose, Neroli and Jasmine are beautiful oils they can be used on their own or combined. This is a truly beautiful blend, strongly feminine and very healing on all levels.
Patchouli, Bergamot and Geranium another of my favourite combinations a lovely balancing blend.
Vetiver and Rosewood a very relaxing and grounding combination.
Frankincense with Geranium, Rose or Neroli is simply delicious.
Sandalwood, Lemon and Rose is supberb.
Clary Sage, Sweet Marjoram and Ylang Ylang are deeply relaxing.
Sweet Orange and Mandarin are aslo relaxing, however I do not recommend Mandairn in the bath as it can cause chloasma (temporary dis-colouration of your skin) when combined with hot water.

Here is an Aromatherapy tip shared with me by a very special friend ~ As many of us in the great land of Oz know, Summer here can be quite challenging as we reach temperatures between 35-48 degrees, worse with the humidity. One way of dealing with this to keep yourself more refreshed and hopefully cooler, is to wet down a sheet or 2 (depending on how many doorways/windows you use), add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to the water and hang them. As the breeze flows through, you will find that the air is cooler as well as Aromatising your environment ♥ Such a fab idea and I am definitely doing this !

Endocrine System Effects ~
According to Costmeticsinfo.org, data indicate that methyl, propyl, and butyl forms of parabens interfere with the functioning of the endocrine system. Specifically, parabens are endocrine disruptors stored in the body tissue that interfere with glandular activity and hormone production. Moreover, these preservative chemicals are associated with the following in infants and children: developmental disorders, dysfunction of the immune system, learning problems as well as reproductive disorders. The Food and Drug Administration states that several assessments made by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review report that parabens are safe, with no side effects, in cosmetics at levels up to 25 percent. It is advised that one read the ingredients in cosmetics before buying any products containing these preservatives.

In Japan several years ago research was done by using Lemon essential oil in the air conditioning during office hours and what they found was that there were less typing errors made by typists. They would also use essential oils to assist in winding down at the end of each day.
